Why This Site Exists

This site exists to provide policy analysis for policymakers and those with an interest in influencing the process.

Take a walk down the street, and it is hard to find one person who has no opinion on events happening around all of us. However, most people are busy and are unable to follow the process of how public policies are made in this country.

That is the gap these notes try to fill. The focus is on how governmental systems implement policy, and whether they stay aligned with the original intent of a law or regulation. The aim is clear analysis that connects high-level decisions to their practical consequences, for the people who shape policy and the people who live with it.

What is a Field Note?

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the earliest usage of “field notes” in writing is from 1687. In practice, people have taken field notes since the start of creation, and these types of writings assist in not only documenting behavior but also in guiding public policy.
